   Dear Sir/Madam,

   I am writing to yourself in the hope that you will be able to help me in an up-coming fundraising event I am organising in aid of the Richard Butcher Memorial Fund which supports charities chosen by the family of Richard Butcher, the former Notts County, Macclesfield and Lincoln City player who tragically died in January 2011 at the age of 29. My name is Luke Williamson and I am a lifelong fan of Notts County and author of I Had A Wheelbarrow, a book documenting Notts County’s League Two title winning season from the viewpoint of a fan.
   In addition to this, I also Manager and run CSKA Carnabys, an Alliance League side that ply our trade in the Leicestershire Sunday Leagues. On August 6th 2011 I am organising a four team tournament in Loughborough along with an after match BBQ and Auction night at a local public house. All proceeds from the auction are going to be in aid of the Richard Butcher Memorial Fund which my club have chosen as our Official Club Charity.
   I am writing to request whether there is anything from your club shop you would be willing to donate for such an evening as we look to raise funds and have an enjoyable evening for all involved.
